At Any Waste Berkshire, we understand scheduling a rubbish removal collection may not be the most straightforward procedure.
Perhaps you may not understand why there are surcharges for specific items or what determines the price of certain waste.
This blog will give you a clear idea of what determines the cost of waste and why they are priced the way they are.

Size – How much rubbish needs collecting
It seems obvious, but the more waste you have, the more you pay. Some items require more time to be dismantled or destroyed, which again adds more time required to complete the job, compared to smaller jobs that can be completed within a matter of minutes.
Weight of the rubbish
Some collectors charge by weight, if your collection contains a number of heavy and dense rubbish (e.g., rubble and bricks etc.) then you may expect to pay a higher price than the cost of one bag of general waste compared to a bag of rubble. This is because it requires longer labour time to complete
Rubbish material
Additional surcharges are required on certain items such as mattresses, fridges and TVs, compared to ‘normal’ waste. This is down to how difficult to handle and dispose of they are, these types of items roughly add an additional £15 -£25 to the collection price.
Accessibility to the property
Another factor that determines price is the access collectors have to your waste. For example, removing a fridge from the ground floor of someone’s home will take significantly less than one on the top floor. Jobs that require more labour time added tend to add to the price.
Collection slots
Collection time has a significant impact on removal price. If you choose a flexible timeslot, you would not be expected to pay any premium on top of the price, however, weekends and bank holidays mean you will have to pay more, equally during peak time allocations (e.g., 7.00 am – 9.000am) the price of the collection will be extra.
